Essential Oils Patch Test

  

It is very important that you test for a reaction to each essential oil you intend to use before you begin your aromatherapy treatment. By performing a patch test before using large amounts of an essential oil, you can avoid painful and uncomfortable consequences if you do happen to be allergic to that specific oil. If you have skin allergies or sensitive skin, it is imperative to check for a reaction.

To test if you will have a reaction to an essential oil:

  1. Place one drop of the essential oil on the inside of your elbow.

  2. Leave it there for 24 hours.

  3. Only test one essential oil at a time.
